Branda's Collections

We are Mariana and Paula, two Argentine sisters who worked together and we like to do it.
Both of us are graduated in Architecture at the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Since we were graduated to 2001 we exerted our profession and from mid 2001 to date we are dedicated to design and produce our own crafts.
We started with stained glass, which we’ve exposed and sold for 6 years at the Feria Artesanal de Olivos. In 2006, we discovered Etsy and in 2007 we opened our store diasyflores
Contemporaneously we opened macraMe where we began offering knotted jewelery, prefering owl necklaces which were very successful . There we started to offer hand knitted garments and paper goods which then resulted the stores branda and Ciaffi

Branda is the name we have chosen for our store in tribute our grandmother who taught us to knit with 2 needles. when we were child. For her, we love knitting and try with different fibers, textures and colors. She didn’t use patterns for knitting, she made it “by eye” and gave us his way of doing.

Our garments are accessories simple, easy to use and combine with any style of dress, both for women as for men. Add Ons that give a touch of distinction to the wardrobe: scarves, collars, mittens, fingerless gloves, hats, berets and caps.

Most of our garments are my own design and we incorporate ideas or designs of others or the traditions when we believe that fit our style. We propose classical models, urban, pret a porter.

We knit entirely by hand with two needles being very careful in all terminations.
Any stitch is part of the everything, disposing harmoniously one with each other, forming and articulating the mesh design that holds up to itself. Not only knit a plot, but also thinking of building it to make a garment unique.

We use the fibers that the current market provides us. Natural fibers such as alpaca and merino wool, blended and artificial fibers such as acrylic. In the election we tend to choice traditional textures and striking a balance between quality and price.

We have no limits to the use of color. We believe that all colors are acceptable to the extent you feel comfortable. The color choice should not depend on fashion, the habits and customs but from the personality and mood of the wearer.

Each of our garments is hand knitted by us. We are our own models and photographers. We manage personally our shop at Etsy and we advertise through our blogs Branda, Branda’s Collections, Flickr, Ravelry, Trunkt, Tumblr, Facebook and twitter.
